Happy New Year: What will change?

Happy New Year! 2016 means so much to me. I graduate this year, and go to college. This year will probably hold a lot of growing up and maturing moments, as well as times when I am super immature and childish.

Most people make resolutions for the new year like:

Lose 10 Pounds!

Go to the Gym

Ask for a pay raise

Actually study at school

Be more outgoing

I HATE making resolutions. After a couple days, or a week, or even a month, you just give up or forget about your promises to yourself.

I don't wanna talk about what resolutions I'm making, cause I'm not making any. Instead, let's cover some possible resolutions as we think about what needs to change.

1. Devotions. They still need improvement. The struggle is real, brothers and sisters. The struggle is real.

2. My attitude about college and the future. I have maybe been holding on to my plans a little too much. They aren't mine. "You are not your own, you were bought with a price" - 1 Corinthians 6: 20

3. Maybe I should lose 10 pounds...I'm not feeling the motivation though. :)

4. Read a book every month. Too much of my time is spent texting or playing games on my iPod. I need to get back to my love of reading.

Reflecting on this list, I can see that I need and should change in a lot of ways, but I can't do it on my own. Thankfully, I have Jesus.

I think the 4th one is something I am going to try. Stay tuned for once a month reports on books I've read.
